Primarily correspondence of Pauline F. (Stone) Jackson and her husband Arthur L. Jackson, with each other, their respective families, their children (Pauline R.J. Harris and Elizabeth G.J. Edson), and friends. Also, earlier Stone and Fay family correspondence, including letters to Dr. Ebenezer Stone; and a series of letters from Charles Fay to his daughter Katherine M. (Fay) Stone (1880s). (Cont.) Collection contains courtship letters (1898-1902) of Pauline and Arthur, with allusions to premarital sexual encounters between the two. Letters of Arthur to his parents (Patrick T. and Eleanor B.G. Jackson) from 1898, and of Pauline to her family (William E., Katherine M.F., and Amy F. Stone, and Margaret G.S. Wright) from 1902 to 1909, describe Bolivia and Arthur's work for the Chicago-Bolivian Rubber Co. and the Andes trading Co.

William Eben Stone, the son of Dr. Ebenezer and Elizabeth Holbrook (Hawes) Stone, was born 27 November 1845 Walpole, MA. William graduated from Brown University in 1866 and then studied mining engineering for a year at M.I.T. William Stone was an active member of the Stone Family Association and in 1907 he was appointed a member of the Committee on English Research of the New England Historic Genealogical Society.
